Dear Parents / Guardians,
The Board of Management of Moneystown National School is fully committed to and very much looking forward to reopening our school and to welcoming back all of our pupils and staff. We have implemented all that we can to ensure the safe return of our staff and pupils and we will be relying on the goodwill of the entire school community to get this right. Home and school have a joint responsibility in ensuring the wellbeing of the school and the wider community – we all have an important role to play.
As you are all aware, this is an evolving and difficult situation and so our Covid-19 plan will be under constant review. We will be making whatever changes necessary to deal with further challenges as they arise. This is unchartered territory for all of us and we need you to be flexible and patient with us as we navigate our way through. Never has our mantra of “Kind hands, Kind words, Kind feet” been more relevant or more important. Staff, parents and pupils may be quite stressed at this time – please remember this in your conversations.
In the document attached you will find all you need to know about our return to school next week at a practical level. Please note that this is a summary of the overall plan and that our full Covid-19 Response Plan will be available to view on our school website. There will be a focus on Social, Personal & Health Education (SPHE) for all of our pupils when we return. Ensuring that pupils are happy and relaxed will be the first priority.
We urge you to take the time to familiarise yourself with the contents of the document attached and if you have any further queries please send an email to Ms Tallon. We recognise that there is a long list of new directions for everyone to get their head around and while it may seem a bit overwhelming at first, there is no need to panic as we will manage it, together.
As a Board of Management we will continue to make our best efforts. It is not within our power to eliminate all risks but we will do all that can to reduce them.
With every best wish for the safe reopening of our school,
The Board of Management,
Moneystown National School
