The Parents’ Association plays an integral part in the life of the school and it is vital to the school’s running. The activities of the Parents’ Association provide an organised forum through which parents can positively contribute to their child/children’s education.
All parents are encouraged to become involved in the Parents’ Association and to support the activities and projects that are a feature of our school.
The Parents’ Association is elected at its Annual General Meeting, which is usually held in September. This committee works in consultation with the principal and the Board of Management to build effective partnership between home and school.
The Role of the Parents’ Association (PA)
There are two main roles of the PA.
- Firstly, the PA works with the principal and BOM for the betterment of the children in the school
- Secondly, the PA works to empower parents to be active in their child’s education in order that they may receive the best possible educational outcome (NPC guidelines)
The PA is registered with the National Parents Council. Their role is to support the PA in order that they may in turn support their child’s education.
